Vasilia and Eric’s wedding at the Estate on the Halifax was anything but traditional—and that is exactly what made it so memorable. Drawing inspiration from European wedding timelines and honoring their Russian heritage, they planned a day that unfolded beautifully. However, kinda in reverse.

We began with getting ready, as most wedding days do. First, Vasilia prepared in Agatha’s charming guest house, surrounded by calm anticipation and soft morning light. AND her cute puppers! Meanwhile, Eric and his groomsmen got ready inside the Estate’s iconic train car, adding a touch of vintage character to the morning.
After solo portraits, we did something delightfully unexpected. Eric was placed in the center of the lush garden for a private first look with his bride. This quiet, emotional moment happened well before the ceremony and set a romantic tone for the entire day. With nerves eased and excitement high, we flowed straight into newlywed portraits. The gardens were glowing, and the timing gave us space to create relaxed, intimate images without feeling rushed.
Next came family portraits at the gazebo, followed by cocktail hour near Snow White’s cottage. Here, Guests mingled, laughed, and enjoyed the setting long before the ceremony even began. While this timeline is the opposite of what we usually see, it felt intentional and unhurried. Everything simply made sense.
The ceremony followed, featuring a meaningful unity candle and heartfelt moments shared with loved ones. Afterward, everyone moved into the tavern to celebrate. One of the most special touches was the DJ, who seamlessly translated between English and Russian throughout the night. Of course the dance floor stayed full, the energy stayed high, and the celebration never slowed.
Before wrapping up photo coverage, we stole Vasilia and Eric away for a handful of romantic night portraits. It was the perfect, quiet ending to a vibrant and thoughtfully planned day. Thank you for choosing us to document your beautiful wedding at the Estate on the Halifax.
